› CDS - Combined Defence Services Exam Training Course

CDS which is basically termed as combined defence services which are exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission UPSC twice a year. The UPSC conducts CDS examination to fulfil the requirement of Indian Military Academy, officers training academy OTA, Indian Naval Academy (NNA), and Indian Air force Academy (IAFA).


:~ Indian Military Academy - Born After 2nd July 1992 and earlier than 1st July 1997

:~ Indian Naval Academy - Unmarried male candidates Born not earlier than 2nd July 1992 & not later than 1st July 1997

:~ Air Force Academy - 20 to 24 years as on 1st July 2017

:~ Officers Training Academy (Man) - Born Between 2nd July 1991 to 1st July 1997

:~ Officers Training Academy (Women, Non-Technical) - Unmarried women candidates born between 2nd July 1991 to 1st July 1997


:~ Indian Military Academy (I.M.A) - Degree from a Recognized University or Equivalent

:~ Indian Naval Academy - Degree in Engineering from Recognized University

:~ Air Force Academy - Degree of a Recognized University with Physics and Mathematics or Bachelor’s in Engineering


:~ The written exam of CDS will be conducted offline or in pen and paper mode.

:~ Written exam of CDS for those willing to apply for Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy, exam will be held for 300 marks. However, for Admission to Officers’ Training Academy, the written examination will be conducted for 200 marks.

:~ Each section of the written exam will consist of 120 questions.

:~ According to the CDS exam pattern, negative marking of 1/3 marks or 0.33 marks will be deducted from the total score for each incorrect answer.

:~ For every correct answer in English and General Knowledge, candidates will be given 0.83 marks assigned per questions. However, candidates will get 1 marks for every correct response in the Elementary mathematics section.
